Adventures In NYC

New York City is the place to live if you want to know what REAL SPONTANEOUS nights are. I went to meet with a good friend/ Mentor of mine on Friday to grab a bit. We haven’t really seen each other that much. So it was really nice to go see Sam.

I meet up with her at her job, from there we were going to walk to Melt Shop. I’ve blogged about it before. I am totally obsessed with Melt Shop I’ve been wanting to go back since the minute I’ve got back from Haiti. Anyway we walked there to get our usual beers with crispy club sandwich (Sam’s favorite) and buffalo sandwich for me. Just writing about this brought water to my mouth. Lol, on a serious note you guys should definitely go there. I go to the one on Fulton street but you guys there are other Melt Shops in New York.

Anyway we stay there to eat our sandwiches while reminiscing on our time working together, our vacation, life. You know the norms. We were thinking about the things we need to change, she’s such a good listener guys (lol she offered to be my therapist for free ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚), you can talk to Sam about anything… She’s so funny. After we ate, we decided to go walk on South Street Sea Port. I was thinking about how I’m going to buy some ice cream from Hรคagen-Dazs. When we go there Sam said I want to take some pictures first. There this street on South Street Sea Port on the left right across the ice cream place, which looks really beautiful. When you stand there it feels like you’ve been transported to Italy or Greece. The whole ambiance, the light in the street, the setting of the restaurant. Really beautiful!!

While we were taking our little selfies, this young lady approach us saying:” would you guys want to attend a free Usher listening party?” We look at her with the “are your serious look?” I was like yes, why not? I was super excited because I’ve never been to any concert in my LIFE!!!!! I’m not a crowd person, I get really nervous, anxious to any big crowd place. So, I was feeling adventurous so I said yes. Mind you we thoughts she wanted us to sign some paper, so we’re ready to be like no we can’t lol. I mean little did we know; we were about to have the time of our life.

Me and Sam were like after 2 songs, we are leaving. As excitedddd that I was, just the thought of being around a lot of people already freaked me out. I said a quick prayer to God, not to let me lose it.

My phone was on the verge of dying so I honestly didn’t have enough charge to be snapping the whole thing which I was grateful for. I was so mesmerized by Usher; I couldn’t even lie about it. I mean this man have the most beautiful smile ever, like he just have to smile for me to fall over him. You know what I like about event like this? It’s the ability of meeting people and connect with them. Me and Sam ended meeting two girls, who we spent the night dancing, laughing, and just screaming on the top of our lungs. It was his listening party so he played all of his new songs. I think his new album is really good, amazing, full of good content. I am really looking forward to buying it. Which I haven’t done in years. He have one song up there that’s it’s my #1 favorite it’s called STRONGER! I want you guys to go listen to it, I can’t really say what’s it about. I want you guys to experience it like I did. Let me be honest really quick, I don’t listen to Usher everyday which I’m about to change.

For the songs that were on his album, the settings was so appropriate. It by the water, it was sunset time. On your left it’s the Brooklyn bridge lighting up as the song going down, with the building in front us being lighted up too. The vibe was over all super great. I am super happy I went. You guys should have seen my face; at one point I was standing there smiling while I was lost in the Guy.

This experience, inspired me to go out more often, like to get out of my comfort zone & experience life. What was so funny to me, I felt like Usher was just a regular person, l felt like he was just doing his job. Like a doctor would or a lawyer would. We all be crushing on our doctors sometimes lol. I always wonder what my reaction would be if I meet an artist, like would I lose my shit or keep it calm lol… For me it wasn’t like I usually see people go nuts. Yes, I was screaming on top of my lungs during the performance but to Me USHER is just Usher (the guy with a God given talent.)

My Friday was absolutely an adventure and I  enjoy it! Go out, enjoy yourself, meet new people, live life ๐Ÿ˜˜.
